Kmart has released their Fab 15 list of the Hottest Toys for Christmas 2012 and I was given the opportunity to review one of them. We were sent the Imaginext Eagle Talon Castle to test out. The Imaginext Eagle Talon Castle is one of the newest items to the Imaginext line of toys and the Castle features lights, sounds and “Turn Tech” Technology to bring imaginations to life with every new addition from the Imaginext Castle line.
The castle arrived just in time, so that when my friend and her son came to visit, it was here for him to play with. Not only did my daughter get to test it out, but her son did as well. We opened it up and the kids couldn’t wait to play with it. The recommended age is 3+, but our 2 year olds had a blast playing with it. The castle does come with small objects such as swords, so when we weren’t watching the kids play with them we took them away and left them to play with the Figures and Castle only.
The Castle opens and folds easily and can expands to over 3ft. The Castle comes with Comes with the transforming castle, 3 Figure turn discs, 2 catapults, 1 “Turn Tech” cannon with 2 projectiles, 3 figures with helmets shields and swords, 8 firing discs for catapults and eagle head, treasure chest, 2 ladders and 4 flags. There are also separate items you can buy such as an ogre, dragon, knights, and many other items.
On top of playing with the figures and castle the kids had fun fighting over whose turn it was going to be to launch the cannons, making the eagle defense mode shoot discs, and making the castle sounds go off. I love how it got their imaginative play going and they had so much fun with it. Like I said above, there are some small pieces so if you have little ones they can pose a choking hazard. Once the kids are done playing with the Castle it folds up into a smaller size for easy storing.
The Imaginext Eagle Talon Castle is sturdy, great quality, and should provide lots of fun for any child who plays with it. You can view it on the Kmart Fab 15 list of The Hottest Toys and purchase your own Castle online or at Kmart stores.
