Ways to Give Back to Your Child’s School!

Our daughter is starting school very soon and the other night we went out back to school shopping. School supplies, lunch supplies, and new clothes. It happens every summer and I love it. It’s a great way to get ready for the new school year together and to spend some time with your kid(s). School supply list in hand and we headed to our local Walmart to pick up our favorite General Mills products and everything else we needed on our daughter’s school supply list. From pencils, to colorful clothes, and lunchbox snacks – we got it all. When I go shopping I try to look for products that have the Box Tops for Education label so that we can clip them and give them to the school. The school can turn them in for money that they can use to upgrade equipment, school supplies, or purchase whatever it is they need to help teach our kids properly.

It’s hard for me to get out and volunteer at the school so I like to give back in other ways. Here are some of the ways I like to help our daughters school:

• Clipping and sending in Box Tops. I can find them on products we use all the time like Honey Nut Cheerios, Taco shells, snacks for the kids, and so much more.
• Sending extra school supplies. Everything is on sale right now (and fairly cheap) so grab extra pencils, crayons, markers, and other items in case there is a child who isn’t able to bring any in and so there are extras for the class when they need them.
• Giving the teacher a gift card. I actually saw this somewhere recently and thought it was a great idea. Whether it’s a gift card to Amazon or a local craft store, giving the teach a gift card to help pay for classroom supplies, so she spends less out of her pocket.

Once we got done school shopping we came home and had a family favorite meal, TACO NIGHT! We have Taco Night usually once a week and once we’re done our daughter loves to clip the Box Top from the package and place it in our Box Top box, so she can turn them into the school.
