2012 Kia Sportage SX Turbo

Sharing is caring!

Over Thanksgiving we went back home to visit family and I got to drive around the 2012 Kia Sportage SX Turbo. It showed up in a beautiful fiery red color and instantly it reminded me of the sorento, just a little bit smaller. I was eager to see what it could do and since my mom lives in an area with lots of hills I knew this sporty SUV would be fun to drive around.

When they dropped it off they warned me about the Turbo and that the car goes pretty fast and boy were they right! After a few seconds the turbo kicks in and the car just takes off. Several times while driving it I would look down and realize I was going way too fast and have to slow it down. My husband drove it around too and even mentioned about how fast the car was and how it was fun to drive. The car handled nicely, was a smooth ride, took hills with ease, and was all around fast and fun to drive.

I could tell the SUV was on the smaller side, but the car was still roomy and we had no complaints. I thought it would be a snug ride but we all fit comfortably, car seat and all. The sportage does have a 3rd row seat and when it was up there was zero trunk space, but when it’s folded down the trunk space is decent. It fit our large suit case, stroller, and a few small bags and was full.

The toddlers favorite feature of the car would have to be the panoramic roof. She loves having them open so she can look up at the sky and if it keeps her happy then I am all for it. Like all Kia cars this sportage packed some pretty sweet features. Navigation, Keyless Entry, Push Start, Backup Warning System, SiriusXM Satellite Radio, Steering wheel controls, ect. If you read my other Kia reviews then you know how great the features are and that I love them all.

The sportage gets a fuel economy of (CTY/HWY) 21/30 mpg and has a good crash test rating.

I this fabulous SUV is great for any outdoorsy type person and the base model starts at just $18,500 (prices varies depending on model and features.)

*I was given a 2012 Kia Sportage for review purposes. Regardless, All opinions are 100% my own.
