This post is brought to you by Kimberly-Clark and The Motherhood.
Spring is here and the kids and I are enjoying the bursts of warm weather, spending more time outdoors, and and getting ready for all things spring related like planting a garden. It’s also time to start spring cleaning, but spring cleaning is something I don’t always look forward to. Spring is the perfect time to deep clean the house, get rid of extra clutter, and reorganize, but with 3 small kids who I’ve nicknamed human tornadoes, it can be a little difficult getting that spring cleaning done. Over the last week I’ve started spring cleaning our home and it’s so refreshing seeing our house with less clutter and more organized, but it can be a little boring so I like to find ways to make it fun and get the kids involved.
Before I even start to tackle cleaning I plug in my iPad to make sure it’s fully charged and then I head to Walmart and stock up on all my favorite cleaning supplies like cleaners, Viva® Vantage, rubber gloves, trash bags, and some organizational items. I also like to stock up on our bathroom products like Cottonelle® Ultra Comfort Care toilet paper to make sure that we don’t run out. I like to stick with Kimberly-Clark products for their durability, softness, and ability to help me tackle messes with ease.
Once I get back from stocking up on supplies it’s time to get down and dirty. To make cleaning fun I make a playlist on my iPad of songs that put me in a mood to get up and move, crank it up, and start cleaning. Once I get in the mood to start groovin’ cleaning starts to get fun and go by a lot faster. The kids see how much fun I’m having singing and dancing around the house that they want to help me out and it ends up turning into a big cleaning dance party. My music changes and I listen to all genre’s but my top 10 go to songs right now are:
- Bell Biv Davoe – Poison
- Timber – Pitbull
- Sexy Back – Justin Timberlake
- Billie Jean – Michael Jackson
- Shake it Off – Taylor Swift
- Britney Spears – Circus
- TiK ToK – Ke$ha
- Call Me Maybe – Carly Rae Jepsen
- Just Dance – Lady Gaga
- Party Rock – LMFAO
Some other ways the kids and I make cleaning fun is by playing games like I Spy. We’ll play I Spy and when they find the item they have to either put it away, toss it, or clean it, depending on what it is. I Spy is always a fun game to play and if I can get them to help clean in the process it’s a win-win situation! One of their favorite I Spy items is something that they have to dust. I’ll spray the dust cleaner and they’ll use Viva® Vantage to wipe up the dust/dirty area. Viva® Vantage are my go to cloth towels because the scruby, but soft, texture is great at cleaning surfaces, they’re tough and hold up to my kids roughness, and we can choose a smaller or bigger sheet size depending on the job they’re doing.

I always think cleaning goes better with a soundtrack. I'm partial to show tunes that I can sing along with.

Thank you for the great music ideas as I need to download music so I have something to listen to anytime not just for cleaning.

Very good songs to get me in the groove to clean the house. I like the Viva paper towels. They work so good and getting off all the dirt in my house!
