I was recently invited to check out a new to me store called Evereve and they wanted to know how I dress like a mom. I quickly got on their website and started drooling over all of their gorgeous clothes that are stylish, mom friendly, and so pretty, but there was one problem – I’m a plus size mama, but I didn’t let that stop me. I knew exactly what I was going to do and put my plan into action. I headed to my local Evereve store and got to work shopping for a very near and dear friend of mine. I was heading to her baby shower that weekend and while I had a baby gift for her already I knew I wanted to get something that was just for her.
I got to our local store and all of the sales associates were so kind and helpful. Directing my kids to the play area with snacks (which is a total life saver when you’re shopping with 3 kids in tow), asking if I needed any help shopping, and offering suggestions. When my kids spilled goldfish all over the floor they stopped me from cleaning them up and insisted that they do it. If you’re anywhere near Park Meadows in Littleton, Colorado visit the Evereve store located next to the American Girl Store.
Can we talk about these print combos because I am obsessed with them! Strips and plaid? YES PLEASE! And Olive green and leopard? Yep. I’m doing it.
Even though I was shopping for my friend I still found a bunch of cute accessories and a scarf for myself which is perfect for all this fall weather we’ve been having. I also had to stop looking at all their pretty shoes because my focus that day was my sweet friend. Typically when you go to a baby shower you spoil the baby to be with gifts and that’s wonderful, but what about mom? They should be spoiled too because they’re doing all the hard work. Growing a tiny human is hard.
I am a firm believer that mom should be spoiled at her baby shower and I got my friend a gorgeous floral velvet kimono that can be worn during her last few weeks of pregnancy, in the hospital when visitors come, and after her baby has arrived. Florals and velvet are in style right now and this Velvet Burnout Kimono is perfect for the changing seasons and can be paired with just about anything. To go with her new Kimono I also got her a Agate statement cuff.
I showed up to the baby shower with gifts in tow and had a blast. Since she doesn’t live close by anymore we don’t get to see each other often and it was so great watching our kids play together, rubbing her belly, and chatting over brunch. When I got home that night I got a text from her saying how much she loved the kimono and she was already planning her Thanksgiving outfit around it.
And me, I’m enjoying these fall days in my cozy blanket scarf that is the perfect fall/winter pattern and new bracelet stack.
The next time you go to a baby shower, get something for mom. They deserve to be spoiled just as much as the baby to be!

I'm a plus-sized mama too and I have a very hard time finding cute clothes in my size. Do you have any recommendations?

Wow Jamie! That's indeed a very cool idea. Dressing up like the mom-to-be is one of the coolest gift she can get. It will make sure she doesn't look out of the place either. Keep sharing more ideas like these :) Kathy
