5 Tips for Having the Perfect Cold & Snowy Indoor Halloween!

Sharing is caring!

Looking to ditch Trick or Treating this Halloween and spend the evening indoors with your kids? Wondering what to do on Halloween since it’s snowing? This guide will help you have the best indoor Halloween with Halloween games, Halloween activities, and Halloween Foods!

How to have a fun Indoor Halloween

This year the weather is showing we might get snow for Halloween, so this would be our first snowy Halloween since being in Colorado. If you’ve been in Colorado for a while you’ll quickly learn that the weather forecast changes hourly and things can go from warm and sunny to ugly pretty quickly. Whether it snows or not there is one thing that it pretty certain and that is that it will be cold Halloween night. Last year it was so chilly and windy that we made it halfway through Trick or Treating and turned around and came home.

Both of our kids schools do Trunk or Treat events, so they’ll get lots of trick or treating in there. There are also lots of events all over town, especially at shopping centers and church’s, that do trick or treating events during the day (when it’s warm out) so your little goblins and ghouls won’t freeze trying to get their yearly fix of candy. Our plan this year is to hit up the Trunk or Treats at the schools and spend Halloween indoors and warm.

To prepare I hit up my local Target for some much needed supplies. The dollar spot was perfect for my indoor Halloween plan. Check out my pinterest page for lots of Halloween ideas!

Mummy Hotdogs for Halloween

Spooky Food – Have you checked out my 31 ideas of spooky foods post? There are lots of great ideas for Halloween themed foods. We’ll be having mummy dogs, pumpkin shaped pizza (from papa murphy’s), and a few spooky treats to celebrate the night.

Movie – Pick out a Halloween movie your kids will love, possibly Coco or Hotel Transylvania 3, and watch it while enjoying your Halloween foods and drinks.

Halloween Pajama Costumes for Kids

Awesome Pj’s – Our kids are obsessed with blanket sleeper pj’s lately and Target has an awesome selection of fun ones for kids. From super heroes to animals, they’re a great alternative to costumes and perfect for dressing up indoors.

Halloween Games for Kids

Halloween Activities for KidsFun things to do – Instead of Trick or Treating I am sending the kids on a scavenger hunt and each clue with have a prize with it and they can use the prizes for our fun night indoors. I grabbed a Halloween Game, a craft type project, Halloween Books, a movie, and their final treat will be a cauldron filled with snacks, candy, and some fun little things like vampire teeth, tattoos, and bubbles. Since we’re doing the teal pumpkin project I already had a bunch of bubbles, vampire teeth, and tattoos – so I just kept 1 of each for our kids special Halloween Cauldron.
