Red White and Blue S’mores
S’mores dip is perfect when you don’t have a campfire to roast marshmallows on. These can be cooked on the grill, oven, or even an air fryer and are ready in a short amount of time. The most time consuming part is going to be dying your marshmallows red and blue, but even that is an easy and quick task.
How to Color Marshmallows
To get red and blue marshmallows there are a few ways you can do this. The easiest way would be to find red, white, and blue marshmallows. They can usually be found around the 4th of July in grocery stores, but can be hard to get the rest of the year.
Your first option is to use a color mist cake spray. This is basically an edible food coloring spray. You’ll get red and blue colors and spray your marshmallows red and blue. I would put a toothpick into your marshmallow and spray it. This can get messy.
Get Color Mist:
The option I used is adding food coloring to water, placing a toothpick into the marshmallow, and dipping the marshmallow into the colored water. Then you let them dry for a few minutes. You’ll give them a few dunks in the colored water until your desired color is reached.
TIPS FOR MAKING S’MORES DIP
What Chocolate to use for s’mores dip: You can use whatever chocolate your heart desires. I like to use Hershey bars, but chocolate chips and other candy bars work great. You can use white, milk, or dark chocolate.
What Marshmallows to use for s’mores dip: For this recipe, we used jumbo marshmallows but you can also use mini marshmallows.
What pan to use for S’mores Dip: I used a cast iron pan. I love using my cast iron for s’mores dip, but you can use any baking pan you have on hand. Just make sure it’s not a baking sheet so the marshmallows don’t cook over the sides.
How to store s’mores dip: S’mores dip is best served while it’s still hot. It’s so good that there isn’t usually any left to put away, but if there is you can store the leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week. You’ll need to reheat the leftovers because the chocolate and marshmallow will get hard once cooled.
Fun Additions to Red White and Blue S’mores Dip: If you wanted to give your s’mores dip some more fun flavors you could drizzle caramel or peanut butter over the chocolate before adding the marshmallows. You can even add strawberries and blueberries to the 4th of July S’mores dip for more red and blue coloring. Berries are so yummy when added to s’mores.
