One of my 2 year old’s favorite things is trains right now. If she sees one she starts squealing “choo choo” and instantly wants it. When we received the Train Set & Table from BigJigs Toys she was ecstatic.
I tortured my daughter for days by not putting it together instantly because we were getting ready to go on vacation, but once we got back I finally put it together and she hasn’t stopped playing with it.
As you can see there aren’t too many pieces to the table. I put it together by myself in about 20 minutes, but it would have been a little quicker/easier if I had someone to help. Regardless it was easy to put together alone and didn’t require any extra tools.
Now comes the fun… Playing!
The train was fairly easy to set up per the layout in the instructions and the tracks are customizable to do whatever track you want. This track setup lasted a whole 2-3 minutes before my 2 year old tore it down and built her own track. She has no issues setting up a new track or playing with the pieces and there are no small pieces, so choking shouldn’t be an issue if you have smaller kids in the home.
The train table is about the size of a coffee table. It’s made of sturdy wood pieces and painted with nice, bright colors.
Set contains 59 pieces. Wooden train set comes with a sturdy wooden play table, (design matches the set layout). The helicopter has just landed bringing medical supplies for the ambulance, they watch the boat sailing on the lake when they are waiting. On the other side of the table, the fire engine is going to get fuel from the pump to make sure his tank is full. Also included, digger, train with carriages, tunnel, bridge, people, buildings, trees and accessories.
All in All – This train set & table would make a great addition to any playroom, class room, or bedroom. It provides hours if imaginative and creative play. It’s easy to put together, the table is sturdy, and the table/train set are made of quality products. Any little child is sure to love it.
I didn’t see a recommended age for the train set & table, but I say ages 2+ would be a great fit.

Hi there. I was looking for reviews of this train table online and came across your blog post. Now that you've had this for awhile, just wondering if it has held up and if still being played with. I'm trying to decide whether or not to get one for my two year old but he's rough on his toys. Thanks!

Hi Anita! It's held up very well and my daughter is ruff on her toys. She uses it more as a table to play with ALL her toys vs just for the train set these days. I don't recommend getting it wet. She likes to spill things on it and I had to scrub the boards and they bubbled a little, but other then that the train table and set has held up very well!
