*I was provided with a Kia Soul to test drive. All opinions are my own!
A while back we took a road trip down to Colorado Springs, which is a little over an hour outside Denver. It was our first time heading down there and I knew I didn’t want to bring my mammoth SUV since we would be doing a lot of driving and that beast loves to suck down some gas. I’m so thankful Kia let me borrow one of their Kia Soul‘s for the trip and I knew it would be the perfect car for our weekend away. Since we were only going for the weekend I knew we wouldn’t be bringing too much stuff with us and my daughter is at the age that a stroller isn’t really needed anymore. I have to admit that the trunk space on the Soul is small, but I was able to fit our 3 small suit cases in the truck with no issues and if I had needed to I would have been able to fit a light weight stroller as well. Since my mom was with us on the trip we hit up an outlet mall on our way back and with the suitcases in the back there was still room for lots of shopping bags from our trip. One of the good things about the Soul is if you have no one in the backseat or in our case only one person in the backseat you can fold some of the seats down for more cargo room.
One of the main things you want to be on a road trip is comfortable and the Kia Soul was very roomy. My mom and I had more than enough room in the front and I was able to fit the toddlers car seat in the backseat where she had plenty of room as well. Not once did we get cramped or complain of needing to get out and stretch our legs. Along with being roomy the soul was the perfect size for our weekend away. I knew I wanted something that would be easy to maneuver through Colorado Springs and the Soul did just that. While the car handled great and drove like a breeze the size was perfect for finding parking spots at the zoo and other attractions we visited. One thing I noticed is that a lot of the parking spots at the places we visited were on the small side and the Soul was the perfect size to fit in them and if I did have a tough time getting into a spot I had my handy dandy back up camera to help guide me in.
Another must have on my road trip list is GPS and an easy to navigate center console. When you’re driving through an unfamiliar area GPS is always a good thing to have and luckily the Kia Soul has one built into the center console and I really liked that the center console isn’t too cluttered or has too many buttons. The last thing I want to be worried about when navigating the streets of a new town is trying to figure out how to work the AC or Radio, but with an easy to navigate center console I didn’t have that issue with the Soul.
All in All I was very happy with our road trip in the Soul and it’s the perfect little car for a weekend away or for daily life. It’s compact but spacious and is available with different features to meet your needs! Starting at just $14,700 this little car is sure to get you where you need to go in a breeze!

What a great little vehicle to scoot around in. I'd love to rent something this size while on a vacation with my husband. Looks easy to drive and navigate, and comfortable, too!
