About The Latch:
Munchkin is known for adding innovative solutions to ordinary baby products. We know that feeding a newborn is the most critical, and sometimes the most challenging aspect of being a new parent. While 90 % of moms intend to breastfeed, many of these moms also plan to incorporate a bottle. We looked at the bottle market and knew we could make a better baby bottle, one that truly functions like the breast to ease the transition from breast to bottle and back, while reducing the risk of colic. Munchkin’s team of designers sought advice from leading lactation consultants and pediatric specialists to best understand how to support moms who plan on both breast and bottle feeding.
The LATCH difference:
• While other bottles were designed to look like the breast, the patent-pending accordion nipple was designed to act like the breast. The LATCH nipple stretches, moves and pumps just like the breast.
• LATCH’s anti-colic valve prevents air bubbles from traveling through breast milk, reducing gas and fussiness.
How the LATCH bottle is more like the breast:
• Stretches for a Better Latch: Experts agree that a better latch eases the transition between breast and bottle, and back. That’s why our accordion nipple stretches back to your baby’s soft palate for a correct latch.
• Pumps Like the Breast: The accordion-nipple pumps back and forth as the baby applies pressure, releasing the milk as the baby sucks. This is the same pumping motion as on the breast.
• Moves for Less Colic: Because of the accordion base, the LATCH nipple easily moves with the motion of a newborn baby, which can be frequent as baby gains head control. This allows baby to maintain his latch and reduce ingestion of air into his belly.
How the LATCH bottle reduces colic:
• Our anti-colic valve is located at the bottom of the LATCH bottle, ensuring no air bubbles travel through the breast milk when baby feeds.
• The LATCH anti-colic valve is a simple-one piece valve that can be easily removed, cleaned and re-inserted. Many other bottles have multiple valve parts, making it more cumbersome to clean.
How LATCH can ease the breast to bottle transition:
• In addition to the importance of a bottle that truly functions like the breast, our expert advisers gave us valuable feedback about the importance of breast milk flow rate. The best transition occurs when bottle’s flow and mother’s flow match. The LATCH Stage 1 nipple’s flow rate has been reduced to mimic the flow of the breast.
• Our Stage 2 and 3 nipples allow you to increase the flow as your baby grows.

Do we need to be there from 3-5 or is it a drop-in event? Thanks!

Too bad I'm not closer! I'm not currently pregnant and breastfeeding, but I like to keep up on the info, just in case I decide to have another one. Have fun at the event!
