During the summer I love to BBQ with friends, but a lot of times we get thunderstorms in the afternoons so the kids have to come inside and figure out something to do. It’s safe to say my family and our friends love video games, so when our most recent BBQ got hit with a typical afternoon thunderstorm, we brought the kids inside and start some Skylanders battles with the Skylanders Swap Force game.

During the party we enjoyed some Frito-Lay goodies while playing Skylanders Swapforce and checking out all the cool goodies Skylanders sent over. Stuff like slap bracelets, beach towels, pj’s, blankets, and much more. Who knew Skylanders had so much cool gear? To say they had a blast would be an understatement and they couldn’t stop talking about Skylanders for the rest of the day. Apparently they’re a big deal in the kids video game world and we had some pretty happy kids and some intense Skylanders games going on.

We got them to stop long enough to enjoy some delicious BBQ and then they went back to more Skylanders. I don’t think I’ve ever seen them play for so long, but they truly had a blast. • “Flip Wreck” submitted by Noel Foster from Clearwater, Fla., is imagined as half-dolphin and half-shipwreck, unlike any Skylanders the world has ever seen.
• “High Five” submitted by Phylicia Nakamoto from Elk Grove, Calif., is the fifth son saving the underworld from trolls to prove worthy of joining the Skylanders heroes. Famous for his great speed, this hero can fly higher and faster than any other dragonfly in Skylanders.

Don’t forget: now through June 13, 2014, fans 13 years and older can vote for their favorite of the three finalist names, and the winning character will come to life in Skylanders Trap TeamTM Video Game; finalist with the most votes receives $100,000 Scholarship.
