Finding Our First Sitter with #UrbanSitter!

We’ve never had a babysitter before that wasn’t family, but I knew it was time to hunt one down for the time where family wasn’t available and I needed someone to watch the kids, but finding a trusty sitter can be hard. I won’t leave my kids with just anyone and I need someone who is trustworthy, reliable, experienced, and most of all someone my kids will like. Started by busy parents, UrbanSitter is an online resource where parents go to find and book babysitters recommended by people they know. UrbanSitter will find available sitters—and show you the ones recommended by parents in your social circles (mother’s group, child’s school, sports team, etc.). The website is easy to navigate, profiles are easy to view, and there are a variety of sitters to meet your families needs.

This pregnancy has been difficult on me, especially with 2 younger kids running around and I’ve needed some quiet time to play catch up with emails, posts, and various other things. Since I’m on the search for a sitter I put UrbanSitter to work, created a job listing, and found a sitter close to where we lived and whose responses I liked to the questions I asked. I was able to view her profile, read her reviews, view her schedule, watch a video she created explaining about herself and her experience, message her, and finally meet her and see how she did with my kids. My kids aren’t too keen to strangers, so I was a little worried with how they would do with a sitter they didn’t know, but the girl I found was awesome and jumped right into talking and playing with them. My kids really warmed up to her and they had a blast playing together while I was getting some much needed work done.

Everything about UrbanSitter was easy going from creating my profile, to finding a sitter, to booking our time, and paying her. With UrbanSitter you can either choose to pay your sitter in cash or use the website/app to pay with a credit card. I chose to pay with a credit card and it was a smooth and easy transaction. I love everything about UrbanSitter and that fact that I was able to find a sitter to have as a backup for appointments I need to attend, date nights, and other miscellaneous times I need to have someone watch the kids.
