DIY Beachy Happiness Loofah Soap

Are you looking to expand your craftiness and create your own homemade pretty scented soaps? Homemade Beachy Happiness Loofah Soap is the perfect DIY Soap recipe to reconnect you with the beach, get you smelling great, and keep you exfoliated.

Homemade soap makes for pretty bathroom decor, makes great gifts for friends and family, and you can control what’s going into it since you’re the one adding ingredients and making it.

Loofah soaps can get pricey when buying them and can be cheaper to make at home, once you get some initial start-up items out of the way like molds, coloring, and scents.

For this soap, you’ll use a glycerin soap base, coconut oil, and essential oils as the base for the soap. You can add in soap colorant for a vibrant beachy blue color.

Happiness essential oil contains a mix of orange, lemon, patchouli, and more that brings happiness whenever you smell it. If you can’t find Crafty Bubbles Essential Oil Blend you can use these Tropical scents or Island Getaway essential oils for yummy beachy scents.

Coconut oil helps to make this soap hydrating and keep you skin healthy and the loofah helps to exfoliate the skin in the shower or while washing your hands.

How to Make Homemade Loofah Beachy Happiness Soap

STEP 1: Using your serrated knife, start by cutting your loofah into 1″ slices and place each piece into the bottom of your mold.  

STEP 2: Melt your clear soap base in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-20 second increments (begin at 30, then 20), stirring after each session until completely melted.  

STEP 3: Once your soap base is completely melted, add your soap colorant (one drop at a time until you get the color you desire), coconut oil, and fragrance oil to the soap base. For this loofah, we decided to try a Crafty Bubbles essential oil in Happiness and I couldn’t be “happier”. Happiness is a blend of patchouli, lavender, orange, ylang ylang, amyris, cassia, ginger, magnolia flower, lemon, myrrh, peppermint, pine, and rose, and altogether simply smells amazing!

STEP 4. Spray the bottom of your mold with the alcohol spray, then pour your soap base into the silicone mold and spray once again with rubbing alcohol to remove bubbles. Let it sit completely untouched to cool and harden for about an hour.

STEP 5: Remove from the silicone mold once it has set and hardened and enjoy it’s exfoliation properties.

Now that your homemade loofah soap is done place it in your bathroom, shower, or wrap it in twine with a cardstock note as a gift for friends, family, or neighbors.
