Loaded Halloween cookie bars use store-bought cookie dough, chopped Oreos and M&M’s, and colorful melted chocolate drizzle. For an added effect they have candy eyes on top. They’re so pretty to look at, but taste so good that it will be hard to not eat them all.
Halloween Cookie Bars
Candy Cookie bars are a simple way to use leftover Halloween candy! While the recipe calls for M&M’s you can substitute those with any of your favorite Halloween candy or a mix of different candy. M&M’s are my favorite way to make these type of leftover Halloween candy cookie bars.
These easy cookie bars can be made for any type of Halloween party or family movie night. They also make a yummy treat for school lunches!
Halloween Cookie Bars Ingredients
Here’s what you’ll need to make your loaded cookie bars!
- 16.5 ounce roll refrigerated chocolate chip cookie dough
- 6 mint Oreos, roughly chopped
- ½ cup ghoul’s mix (Halloween) M&Ms
- 1.5 ounce orange candy melts
- 1.5 ounce green candy melts
- 1.5 ounce purple candy melts
- Candy eyeballs for decoration
How to make Halloween Cookie Bars
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line an 8×8 baking pan with parchment paper and set aside.
Break up the cookie dough and add to a medium bowl. Mix in the chopped oreos and M&Ms.
Spread the dough in an even layer in the prepared baking pan. Cook for 20-25 minutes or until the edges have set and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow the cookie to cool for 10 minutes in the pan before transferring to a wire rack to finish cooling.
Once the cookie has completely cooled, melt the candy melts according to the package directions. Add each separate color of candy melts to a small Ziploc bag. Cut the corner off the bag to create a piping bag.
Using a back and forth motion drizzle the candy melts over the cookie. While the candy melts are still wet, apply the candy eyes. Set aside for about 15 minutes. to allow the candy melts to set.
Cut the cookie into 16 pieces and enjoy.
Halloween Candy Cookie Bars FAQ
Allow the cookie dough to sit out at room temperature for 5-10 minutes before breaking it up. It will make it easier to break up and mix in the Oreos and M&Ms.
Regular Oreos can be used in place of mint Oreos.
Try replacing the M&M’s with Reese’s pieces for a peanut butter twist.
