Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cake Truffles
Here is what you’ll need for your Snack Cake Truffles
⦁ 2 boxes of Christmas Tree Cakes (10)
⦁ ½ a cup of Cream Cheese Frosting
⦁ 1 bag of Bright White Chocolate Melts
⦁ ½ a bag of Red Chocolate Melts
⦁ Green Sanding Sugar
⦁ Stand Mixer
⦁ Bowl
⦁ Fork
⦁ Piping Bag
⦁ Parchment Paper
A fun optional addition would be white chocolate chips. You can also make this recipe with the chocolate Christmas tree cakes. Use the chocolate cakes and chocolate candy melts instead.
How to Make Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cake Balls
Start by adding ten cakes and cream cheese icing to your stand mixer.
Mix on high until well combined and smooth.
Roll about 2 tablespoons (each) into 10 round balls. Lay out on parchment paper.
Place in the freezer for one hour.
Place your white melting chocolate into a large microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 45-second intervals, stirring after each, until smooth and melted.
Remove your truffles from the freezer and drop them in your bowl of melted chocolate one at a time.
Roll the truffle around to coat the entire thing in the chocolate. Using a fork, take the ball out of the bowl and shake off any excess chocolate. Place the truffle gently down on parchment paper. Dip the remaining truffles.
Place the cake balls in the freezer for about 10 minutes.
Once the chocolate is set. Melt down your red melting candies and place them in a piping bag. Cut off a small tip on the end of the bag.
Dip your finger in some water and lightly brush the top of your truffle with water.
Sprinkle it with sanding sugar.
Using a side-to-side motion, pipe on your red lines.
Let harden and set. Serve and enjoy. Store in an airtight container.
Can I substitute the frosting?
Yes! You can use an 8oz block of softened cream cheese instead. This will also cut back on the sweetness.
Can I use the Chocolate Christmas Tree Cakes?
Yes or any other snack cake. Just swap out the snack cake you are using and use chocolate melts instead.
How to Store Cake Truffles
Store them in an airtight container in a cool place, so they don’t melt. If using cream cheese store them in the fridge.
