Go on a Christmas Lights Scavenger Hunt with your kids, family, and friends with this Free Printable Christmas Lights Scavenger Hunt! This fun Christmas activity is free to download and do and can be turned into a fun Christmas tradition.

Ever since I was a kid we would go out one night and drive around looking at all the Christmas lights in our area. It’s turned into a tradition I now do with out kids. We head out to Christmas in Color and then drive around our area and look at the lights in the local neighborhoods. It’s so much fun, cheap, and something I hope my kids will do with their families when they’re older.

How to Use Christmas Lights Scavenger Hunt

Step 1: Download the Free Printable. You can find it at the bottom of this post.

Step 2: Print as many copies as you’ll need. You can either do 1 for the whole family or 1 per person. Don’t forget the pen!

Step 3: Head out with your family and find the Christmas lights. You can even turn it into a game of who finishes first wins a small prize or get together with another family (or families) and turn it into a race of which family finishes first. You could even try to play while watching Christmas movies!

Where to Find Christmas Lights In Your Area

Wondering where you can find Christmas lights in your area?

  1. Join local Facebook groups and see if anyone has shared neighborhoods, houses, etc. We have a local one that put together a google map of houses.
  2. Check on Nextdoor or Ring.
  3. Ask local friends and family.
  4. Hit up Google and see if anything comes up. I know in our area a few houses have made the news!
  5. Visit Christmas in Color (if you have one near you)

Supplies needed for Christmas Lights Scavenger Hunt

Printer – You’ll need a printer to print out your free Roll the Dice Gift Exchange Game. This is an affordable printer that would be great for printing out printables. However, this is my favorite printer and it’s great if you’re also into crafting. However, my favorite printables printer is the Ecotank. The ink lasts forever and it prints really nicely.

Printer Paper or Cardstock – Personally I like to print my printables out on cardstock since it’s thicker and more durable, but regular printer paper works as well.

Laminator (optional) – I love to laminate my printables. It makes them last longer with sticky little hands, I can wipe them clean, and it makes them so they can be enjoyed over and over again. This is the laminator I use and love. Don’t forget the laminating sheets!

Pen/Crayon/Marker – You’ll need something to mark off the Christmas Lights you have found!
