I mentioned the other day on facebook that I wanted to make my daughter a tutu. I was feeling inspired after browsing around on etsy for awhile. I went to joann’s and got green, white, and red tulle along with elastic. I came home and got to work…
Cutting all those strips really was a pain in the butt. I ended up with extra red tulle, but not enough white or green. It’s weird since I got the same amount of each color, but whatever.
Here is the finished product. I don’t think I did too bad for my first attempt. My daughter LOVES it. Now to see if I can make a matching headband with tulle flowers from left over scraps I have…
How did I do? Any tutu experts out there?

It came out so cute! I've been wanting to make a tutu and so I've been looking at many tutorials. I can sew, so I had looked into making one that wasn't knotted together, but sewn. I couldn't find bolts of tulle at Joanns with enough tulle in the colors I wanted. Then I got sidetracked and forgot about the tutu. The little girl I wanted to make it for is now into tutus so much, other things. I love the flower headband - I make them!

My goodness she is so cute and seems to be enjoying her new tutu and I don't think she cares that you ran out of green and white. Just adorable

Forgot to add, I made my daughter a lot of things like that when she was small and it's so fun making things for them. I really miss it.
