A Quick Coupon How To!

Sharing is caring!

I am not a coupon professional, nor do I claim to be. I am still learning the ropes and took a 2 month break from nov-dec because the coupons were pretty sucky. I am just now getting back into the hang of things and want 2012 to be a great year of couponing in our house. I set this as one of the goals for the year and today I officially kick started it!

This shopping trip was done at target and with all printable coupons.

The Kre-O Coupons can be found HERE – Click the “Get savings event”. Enter your email and captcha code, get coupons now, and look for the $8 Kre-O optimus prime coupon. The small version retails for about $7.97-$7.99 at walmart and target. With the $8 coupon he is FREE!

n the target coupons section on their website click grocery and search through the pages until you find the skinny cow $3 coupon. The coupon is good for $3 off 2 skinny cow candies. This is a TARGET coupon so it can be combined with a manufacturer coupon. Click the second link, which will take you to walmarts website. Click “get nestle coupons” at the top and print the skinny cow coupons. These are BOGO – Buy One Get One Free coupons. Take both your coupons to target and get your skinny cow candies! The candy was $3.99 per box. I used the BOGO Coupon which made one free so my total dropped to $3.99. I then used the $3 off coupon which dropped my total to $0.99. $0.99 for 2 boxes of candies OR $0.49 each.

The other coupons were all coupons I had printed out awhile back.

$0.50 off a carefree product. These coupons make the 20 packs $0.49 since they retail for areound $0.99 at walmart and target. These coupons come out regularly in the Sunday ads.

The floss was a $1 off coupon. They have a $0.97 reach floss at walmart and target, so these are always free with the coupon.

Target.com had a $1 off Up & Up paper towel coupon. The paper towels are on sale for $0.99 which made them free.

I had a $2 off maybeline mascara. The mascara was $4.29. After coupon $2.29. My most expensive item.

My total was $36.50 before coupons. I saved $30.23 and paid $6.23 – $1.85 was tax!

The coupons I use for my shopping trips can be found on coupons.com, redplum.com, walmart.com, and target.com I also buy 2 sunday papers each week for the coupons.

You can also find coupons on facebook. Like your favorite brands and every once in awhile they post coupons. I tend not to use these though. There is usually a limit and they run out QUICK because EVERY blog and their mama posts about them. Also visiting your favorite brands website can sometimes produce coupons. I have also been successful in emailing companies. Go to their website and browse around for a “contact” link. Email them. Tell them what you love or hate about their product and ask for some coupons. Some companies provide them, while others dont. Some magazines even have coupons. You can also find coupons at your grocery store and in your weekly ads that come to your mailbox. Some grocery stores have the blinkie machine where you can grab coupons AND some packages have peelie coupons on them. I was able to grab peelies off of cream cheese and lunch meat the other day!

My favorite places to use coupons are safeway and target because they both have store coupons. You can combine a store coupon with a manufacturer coupon and a sale to score really great deals! Safeway coupons come out in their weekly ads, while target coupons can be found on target.com.

I also follow a few coupon bloggers. They do all the “hard” work for me. I can log into facebook and see a match-up for a free or almost free item and follow the links to print my coupons. I do look at my own weekly grocery store ads since they do vary by location, but I can get an idea of the deals for that week by looking at other people’s match-ups! Every week they post a match-up with the current sales and coupons that are out so you can get a good deal.

Is this making any sense? Helpful? Let me know… Anything I am missing that you would like to know? Leave a comment below and I’ll be sure to answer it!
