A Spa, At Home?

Sharing is caring!

I jumped in the shower yesterday and while using my exfoliating scrub I came up with the bright idea of an at home spa post.

I know most of you are moms and always busy, right? I know I am! Between taking care of a toddler, housework, blogging, errands, and a husband who works a lot finding time and money to hit up a spa is nearly impossible. So I am here to help!

First off you will need to take a night off! If you have family or friends close by who are willing to take your kids for the night (maybe you can swap nights?) then go for it, but if your like me and have NO ONE close by then put those kiddos to bed.

Light some candles (cliche, much?), grab a glass of wine, run a hot bath, and put in your favorite bubble bath or bath salts. Before you get in the bath apply an all natural face mask. Leave the mask on while you are relaxing in the bath. Once you are almost done soaking, scrub yourself down with a body scrub and scrub your feet down with a pumice stone or pediscrub. Rinse off and wash the mask off. Once your dry apply a nice smelling lotion all over. You will be relaxed, your skin will be soft, and you’ll feel great.

I’m not much of a bath person. I prefer a hot steamy shower, but I love face masks and body scrubs. They really do leave your skin smooth and feeling refreshed. My favorite body scrub is by aveda. It used to be the ones Victoria’s secret carried, but they no longer have them.

I get my hair done at Aveda and every time I go they always give me a hand massage and use their Carribbean Therapy body scrub. I finally broke down and bought it. It’s more then I like to spend, $40, but it’s worth every penny. It has a nice natural earthy smell and leaves me feeling so soft. I use it about 2-3x a week.

If you’ve had a long day or a long week take a little time out for yourself. You will be so glad you did…
