UPDATE!! – There has been a recall of KidCo PeaPod Travel Tents, due to safety issues. Apparently, infants and young children can roll off the edge of the inflatable air mattress, become entrapped between the mattress and the fabric sides of the tent, and suffocate.

Kidco was started over 15 years ago when they introduced the first safety gate to the market. Since then they have introduced many other safety items to their collection along with feeding supplies and travel gear!

The Kidco PeaPod is an inflatable air mattress that helps protect kids from cold, damp floors while providing a comforting place to sleep. Great for outdoors because of its UV protection and wind screens. Zippered panels allow parents quick and easy access to children from virtually any angle. The slick, easy to fold design makes it ideal for storage and use anytime.

I was sent the PeaPod Plus – P205 for review. Whether you have an infant or ‘big kid’ the PeaPod Plus, model P205 in Cardinal, is the perfect travel bed. For short trips across town when naptime nears, or long cross country vacations, the PeaPod Plus becomes your child’s own portable bedroom. And it’s so lightweight even your child can carry it. The inflatable air mattress helps protect from cold, hard surfaces (inside or out) and provides a comfortable place to sleep or play. Great for outdoors because of its UV protection and adjustable wind screens. A large front zipper panel allows parents quick access to infants or easy in/out for older boys. The slick, easy to fold design makes it ideal for storage and use at a moment’s notice. Includes anchor straps. Weighs 6.75 lbs.

To say I was impressed with this product would be putting it lightly. I LOVE it. Whether you are traveling, camping, need an extra bed, or having fun the PeaPod Plus is a must have item.

I opened the PeaPod plus and was happy with how easy it was to assemble. Everything was in the circular bag (Seen above). I pulled out the pump and mattress. The pump is a hand pump, but I was able to inflate the mattress within a couple minutes. The tent popped right up and I was done putting it together. It was super simple and took under 5 minutes to get it from the box to sleep ready. Putting it away? Just as easy! I deflated the mattress, folded it up, and folded the tent back down to a circular shape. The most impressive thing was that it ALL folded back down to original size and fit back into the bag with no issues. I can’t tell you how much I loved that. How many times have you bought something and tried to put it back into the packaging and it’s almost impossible to do? Not with this! BONUS!!!

The PeaPod is fairly light weight and very easy to travel with. Since everything folds down this would fit into a suitcase with no issues or you could carry it since the bag does have handles.

My toddler is almost two and she fit into this with no issues. She had plenty of room to sleep and roll around and she loved sleeping in it! It was like indoor camping…

If you have an infant or toddler and travel a lot I would definitely recommend a PeaPod. Whether it’s a trip to the park or a family vacation this will defiantly come in handy!

**Update – Someone raised a concern wondering if there is enough airflow in the tent or if a child could become overheated while in the tent. There are vents on all sides of the tent to allow for proper airflow. Both ends have mesh vents and both sides have big mesh vents. Proper airflow should not be a concern if used properly.
