When my Roku 2 HD arrived I was very excited. I have been wanting something for the TV in my bedroom that would allow me to watch Netflix, but I didn’t want a big game console or to spend lots of money.
I opened my Roku and was surprised at how compact it was. So compact that it fit in the palm of my hand. I hooked it up right away and had no issues. It took me a few minutes to set it up and to connect wirelessly to my internet and I was in business. I love an electronic that I don’t have to call my husband over to set up. All I had to do was plug in the power cable, plug in the HDMI cable (not included), turn on my TV, and of course set it up.
The Roku is very easy to use! I mainly use my Roku to watch movies and tv shows on netflix. The remote is very straight forward and doesn’t have too many confusing buttons. When I set up the Roku I set my netflix log in info and it saved it so now all I have to do is hit the netflix button and the netflix menu appears. Not only can I watch netflix, but I can access Hulu Plus, Amazon Instant Videos, Pandora, my husband can watch sports, and the kids can play games. (The Roku has no monthly fee’s, but some of the channels Roku offers do have monthly fee’s.)
All in All I love my Roku 2 HD. It’s simple to use, doesn’t take up a lot of space, and I can access all of my favorite subscription based services such as Netflix and Hulu Plus and even some free services. I know many people who have cancelled their cable services and strictly use the Roku for their TV viewing pleasures and I can see how they do it. The Roku offers almost everything cable does, but at a fraction of the cost. I recommend the Roku to anyone looking for a streaming player or to cut their costly cable bill.
