World Market Summer Getaway Sweepstakes Campaign & Staycation Ideas!

My husband and I LOVE to travel, but it gets difficult with a toddler and his work schedule, so I like to plan little staycations here and there when he has a day or two off so we can spend time together and do something fun as a family.

If you are unfamiliar with a Staycation here is the definition according to wikipedia: “is a period in which an individual or family stays and relaxes at home, possibly taking day trips to area attractions.”

I haven’t been to Cost Plus World Market in YEARS, but I remember going with my mom when I was little and it was always a fun experience. If you are unfamiliar with Cost Plus they are a store that has home decor, food, beverages, beer/wine, outdoor furniture, and so many other things. You can get lost in there for hours and spend so much money, but they have such cute decor items and foods/drinks from around the world!

I recently took a trip to Cost Plus on the search for items for our staycation. My staycation plan was to visit a local water park and bring a picnic lunch. It’s been so HOT in Denver that I knew a day at the waterpark is just what our family needed.

I walked into Cost Plus and immediately found cute beach blankets, towels, and picnic baskets.

I picked out our new picnic basket ($19.99), beach blanket ($17) and towels. Next I was on a mission to find items for our picnic basket!

I found a great selection of sodas & drinks, chips, and other snacks for our basket and they all looked so yummy!

I also picked up some items for a movie night I wanted to do on our second staycation day.

You can’t have a movie without popcorn & candy! I loved that they had jiffy pop!!! It’s so fun to make and i know my daughter will get a kick out of watching the bag grow bigger with each POP!

I was bummed that we had to cancel out waterpark plans due to a thunder and lightening storm so we only got to do movie night. We had mini pizzas, bottled soda, jiffy pop, and candy.

Everything but the pizza was purchased at Cost Plus. How cute are the pizza papers and popcorn bowl (it was only $9.99. I was expecting it to be way more!!)? The pizza papers are my new favorite thing. They are sturdier then a paper towel and make clean up a breeze, plus they were inexpensive ($2.99 for 24 papers).

I am can’t wait for the hubby’s next day off so we can take our waterpark adventure and I can use the rest of my cute new stuff.
