Shopping for the Holidays on a Budget

Sharing is caring!

The Holidays are my favorite time of year and I tend to spend way too much on gifts & decorations. This year I decided to set a budget and to only shop with discounts to save money.

How do I plan on doing this? Well, I plan on setting my budget and writing a list of people who I am shopping for and what I want to get them. If I plan out my shopping I am less likely to impulse shop and buy. In the past years I have always just gone to the stores and purchased whatever I thought my kids or family would like. This always ends up with my buying way too many gift and spending way too much money. This year I only plan on buying something if there is a sale, coupon, or some other sort of discount that will save me money.

Some stores already have lots of toys marked down, so I’ve been stalking the clearance racks and I plan on stalking the sale ads and comparing prices or price matching. If I can get a coupon for the item, even better! This is a new change so I know it will be a little difficult, but I know my wallet and husband will like it much more.

What’s your plan for Holiday Shopping? How do you shop with discounts to save money?? Any and all tips are appreciated!
