I love to bake, especially around the Holidays. I was wondering around Walmart the other day when I came across this box of Hot Chocolate Cupcakes. I had seen the mix previously over the last few weeks (location with all the Holiday Baking items) and I always glanced at it and kept walking. This time I decided to pick it up and give it a shot. I’ve seen Hot Chocolate cupcakes all over the place and since I love Hot Chocolate, Marshmallows, and Cupcakes I figured I had nothing to lose by trying it. If you can’t find the Betty Crocker mix in stores, then Love from the Oven has a from scratch recipe on her site that looks similar to what we had.
The Cupcakes were easy to make, just cook according to package details and they even come with a marshmallow frosting. Once they are cool, frost the cupcakes. I crushed up some candy canes and sprinkled them on top, but you could also top them with mini marshmallows, chocolate bits, or just the frosting is fine. Talk about delicious. I ate 1 cupcake and had to go back for another. They were some of the best cupcakes I’ve ever eaten… Next up I think I’ll try the from scratch recipe.

I, too, saw the mix over the holidays, but did not pick it up. It's a shame though since my kiddos are crazy for hot chocolate. I think I saw some pins on Pinterest about hot cocoa cupcakes, so I am going to have to go back and check them out
