2012 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport

Sharing is caring!

Upon first look of the 2012 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport I thought it was a cute, small SUV with a sleek and sporty design. The car has keyless entry and remote start which is always a bonus in my eyes, since I can never seem to find my keys in my ginormous purses. The Outlander Sport looked roomy enough for a small SUV and I was able to fit the toddler and her car seat in the back with no problem. While the backseat fits 3 I would say that more then 2 people and it would be uncomfortable and you wouldn’t be able to fit more then 2 car seats. The trunk was spacious and the backseats fold down for even more room.

Once I started driving the car I quickly fell out of like with it. I just couldn’t get use to the One thing that did throw me off a little was the CVT Transmission (CVT – Continuously Variable Transmission).  The transmission is slow and feels like the car isn’t switching into the correct gears. If you don’t mind this kind of transmission then this car would be perfectly fine, but it’s not something I could get passed. We also noticed that the car was noisy. The engine and heater seemed to make a lot more noise then I would prefer to hear while driving around. Both “problems” are minor in the grand scheme of things, but like I said they were something I couldn’t get passed.

Other the the CVT Transmission the car handled ok and it had some nice features like the keyless entry/start, back up assist cameras, a great sound system, and decent gas mileage 22 mpg City and 27 mpg highway miles.

This small SUV is perfect for any outdoorsy type person, someone single, or a small family looking for a small and sporty SUV.

*I was given a Mitsubishi Outlander Sport to test drive for a week. All opinions are my own.
