I’ve always loved getting my nails done and it’s something I do on a regular basis. Now that my daughter is getting bigger, she likes to have “pretty nails” too and often times she will get her nails painted while I am getting mine done. I’m always looking at new nail trends in magazines, on pinterest, or on instagram and often fall in love with whatever is current and copy it.
Some of the HOT nail trends this spring are nude colors, dark colors, metallics, and designs. Sally Hansen offers all of those and it’s been one of my favorite nail polish brands for years. We set out to walgreens to pick up some new spring colors to have a mommy daughter nail painting day at home and while we were at walgreens, we got to check out a Sally Hansen nail demo, where my daughter got to try the salon effects polish strips.
After the demo we picked up some new shades of Sally Hansen polish, polish strips, and a nail art pen for our mommy daughter nail date. The toddler insisted on having pink polish, while I picked up a nude, pretty orange, silver metallic, and polish strips for our date. My mind was dancing with ideas on what I would do when I arrived at Walgreens, but once I saw this Sally Hansen display, it really got my ideas going.
I’m totally in love with this orange “Snappy Sorbet” shade from Sally Hansen. It screams spring and goes with a combo of different designs I had in mind. The pink “Fuchsia Flare” was the toddlers top choice and I have to admit it’s the perfect color pink for spring. The first nail design I did on myself with one of the salon effects nail strips in “Kitty Kitty” on my ring finger, with all of my other nails painted in Snappy Sorbet. I LOVE a statement nail and this combo was so pretty! Then I also played around some more and left my nails in Snappy Sorbet, but did my ring finger in Fuchsia Flare with some Silver Sweep at the top. As for the toddler, she got her nails painted in Fuchsia Flare and we used the nail art pen to give her white polka dots. The perfect spring look for kids.
All these looks were super easy to create and perfect for spring and the best part is my nails were dry in under 2 minutes with the Insta-dry polish!
You can stop by your local walgreens through 3/30/13 to get Insa-Dry Sally Hansen nail polishes for BOGO 50% or purchase them at walgreens.com. When I checked out, the register actually spit out a coupon for Sally Hansen nail polish strips, so that was pretty cool.
