2013 marks a special year for TINKERTOY because it’s their 100th anniversary. Created in 1913 after children were seen playing with pencils and empty spools of thread, it developed into a national phenomenon that inspired children to use their imaginations. K’NEX is pleased to bring this beloved toy into the 21st century with bright, energetic colored plastic parts that serve to capture the attention of children as they create and explore with TINKERTOY.
100 pieces of bright and vibrant colors and pieces of all sizes makes for a fun toy for any child to play with! The set it great for ages 3+ and does pieces that can be a choking hazard, so make sure to be careful around babies and small children. The TINKERTOY 100 Piece Essential building set features the most popular TINKERTOY parts including spools, rods, flags, washers end caps and more. The set also comes with a colorful instruction sheet that features building tips and ideas. The colorful instructions are easy to use and straight forward, a must for any child builder!
I remember playing with TINKERTOY when I was a child and I’m happy that this classic toy is still around for my children to play with. My daughter has a very diverse amount of toys and she loves anything from cars to princess toys, but one of her favorite things to do is build things. Thanks to the TINKERTOY set she now has something other then blocks and mega blocks to spark her imagination when it comes to building. All of the pieces are the perfect size for her small hands and everything is easy for her to use. She has no problem attaching the plastic pieces together and pulling them apart again when she is done and they are all made of quality materials. I can see this set lasting a long time in our house and I may just need to pick up another set so she has even more pieces to build with.
Together we built the flower and she’s been building lots of lollipops…
My only complaint about the TINKERTOY 100 Piece Essentials Set is the giant box. I wish the box was either smaller or came with a bag to put the set in. Regardless the set is a great addition to any TINKERTOY collection you already have or as a starter kit for the little builder in your life!
