As I was cleaning out my daughters crayon box to make room for her new crayons I was finding lots of broken crayons and it brought me back to my childhood and making rainbow crayons and crayon candles with my mom. Making rainbow crayons is one of those super easy crafts to do and you can get more use out of the broken ones!
What you’ll need:
- Broken Crayons
- Muffin Tin
Directions:
- Pre-Heat oven to 250
- Remove wrappers from the crayons and make sure crayons are in small pieces. You can do this by either breaking them or cutting them with a knife.
- Place crayons in the muffin tin and bake at 250 for 15-20 mins or until wax is melted.
- Let cool and pop out of muffin tin!
If you don’t feel comfortable placing crayons in the muffin tin you can line it with a cupcake liner or foil before placing the crayons in.
You can either mix up the colors to create rainbow crayons, group them by color to keep crayons the same color, or add all the pinks, purples, and reds, ect so you have similar colors together.
I used a heart shape silicone cupcake pan to make my crayons. The $1 section in target usually has some silicone pans or even the dollar store and these make for crayons made in fun shapes!
