I recently picked up some roast beef deli meat from Sprouts and after one sandwich was wondering what to do with the rest of the meat. Then I got the idea to make philly cheesesteaks out of it. Super quick and so delicious!
Ingredients:
2 large hoagie rolls
1/2 lb deli rare roast beef (if they don’t have rare that’s ok) (I sliced up my meat into thin slices before cooking)
1/2 white onion, thinly sliced
1 green bell pepper
2 teaspoons garlic, minced
1/2 lb cheese of your choice (thinly sliced) (I used pepperjack in this one, but provolone is also a good option)
1tbspn extra virgin olive oil
salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
Heat oil in skillet and add onion and bell pepper to oil. Cook until onion is translucent. 5-7 minutes. Add in garlic and cook 30 seconds.
If meat is rare remove veggies from skillet, sprinkle meat with salt and pepper, and cook meat until no longer pink. Once cooked add veggies back in.
If meat isn’t rare add it to veggie mixture, sprinkle with salt and pepper, and cook until meat is heated. About 1-2 minutes.
Divide into 2 portions and place cheese on top of meat mixture. Put meat mixture into hoagie rolls and enjoy!
