Bring Back Breakfast: Hungry Jack Pancake Sausage Balls!

Sharing is caring!

I was chosen to be a Hungry Jack Ambassador. I’ve received compensation and products in exchange for my post.

I have to admit that I use to cook a nice big family breakfast every Saturday and sometimes Sunday mornings, but haven’t done so at all for the last year almost. Since breakfast is a family favorite meal the weekend breakfasts were always a great way for us to spend time together after a busy week, but thanks to my most recent pregnancy a family breakfast was one of the last things on my mind. Now that I’m no longer pregnant and feeling sick all the time, I can get back into our weekend breakfasts and spending time together as a family, enjoying some yummy food.

I was recruited by Hungry Jack to help bring back breakfast and it couldn’t have come at a better time. With winter here the hubby tends to work more, with the holidays just around the corner blogging gets pretty busy, and with a new baby thrown into the mix things are just hectic all around. During the week breakfast is quick and easy, like cereal, but on the weekends we can bring back our family breakfast routine and now we have some yummy hungry jack products to help us out!

hungry jack breakfastHungry Jack products are not only delicious, but they’re easy to make. Just measure out your mix, add water, and mix! Since they’re so easy I recruited the toddler to help me out and she got to mix the waffle mix for some Pancake Sausage balls we decided to make. They’re the perfect food for little kids since they’re small and dippable. What kid doesn’t like to dip their food? I know mine does! For these all I did was mix up some of the hungry jack waffle mix, heat up some frozen sausages and slice them into small pieces, and cook them together in my cake pop maker. If you don’t have a cake pop maker or pan you can still do these in a mini muffin pan.

Hungry Jack asked me to share 3 ways that you can bring back breakfast to your house and these are my tips!

  1. Dedicate a day that the family will sit down for a family breakfast and stick to it. Stick it on the calendar each week and make sure everyone in the family is present.
  2. Turn off electronics. As a blogger I am attached to my phone, but during breakfast time we turn off the tv and all electronics. We sit down at the table and talk, eat, and enjoy each others company.
  3. Get the kids involved. Ask the kids what they would like to have for breakfast and have them help. Whether it’s mixing the pancake mix, adding ingredients to the bowl, or helping to cook. They’ll love being able to help and it gives you more time spent together.
