WHAT IS A BRUXIE?

Bruxie is a new take on The Sandwich, using a creative version of an authentic Belgian Waffle as the bread. The waffle is light, airy, crispy, yeasty and not sweet. Bruxie Waffles are paired with quality seasonal ingredients, offering both Savory choices like Buttermilk Fried Chicken, Prosciutto & Gruyere, and Hot Pastrami, as well as a variety of Sweet options such as their Seasonal Crème Brulee, Nutella & Banana and S’Mores.

I had my first Bruxie 2 summers ago when I took my mom on a trip to So Cal for her birthday. My aunt was raving about Bruxie and took us for lunch and since I’m always open to fun new food places I jumped right on board to go. There was a bunch of us and we all ordered different items and shared bites of all our different sandwiches. Everything was fresh, delicious, and left me wanting more. I’ve been talking about going back ever since, but it just hasn’t been in the cards. I follow Bruxie on Facebook and for the last 2 years I would make little comments encouraging them to come to Denver and my wish finally came true!

A few weeks ago I saw on facebook that they were opening a location in Denver and I squealed in delight and started counting down the days until they opened. I actually won a tasting at Bruxie from a Facebook contest, so I got to try them out before they opened and then I was invited back again for a blogger tasting. A friend and I went and we sampled several different sandwiches off the menu and once again everything was delicious and fresh. The thing I really like about Bruxie besides the fresh ingredients and delicious sandwiches is that they’re perfect for cutting in half and sharing with someone. It’s so hard to just pick one of their delicious sandwiches that you have to try a few of them. They have something for everyone and my fav’s are the chicken and waffles, turkey club, and sausage egg and cheddar. Did I mention everything is made on waffles? They waffles are so delicious, light, and not sweet like traditional waffles. They’re the perfect blend for a sandwich and they don’t leave that heaving feeling in your stomach like traditional waffles can do.

Once you’ve tried a few of the sandwiches you have to go in for some desserts. My favorites are the s’mores, strawberry cheesecake, and the lemon cream and berries (i like mine with strawberries only). They also have frozen custard which is really good as well. Their soda’s are made from cane sugar and the restaurant is great for a quick lunch or family dinner. They’re very family friendly and dogs are even welcome. Every time we’ve been the staff is always super helpful and friendly. Greeting us at the door, making sure our food is perfect and we have everything we need, and even taking our trash away. It’s always nice to receive top quality customer service and Bruxie delivers. Make sure to say hi to Dean Simon, one of the originators of Bruxie, he likes to walk around the restaurant and he’s very friendly and chatty. You’ll know him instantly because he’s in the white chef jacket!

I can’t say enough good things about the friendly staff and delicious food. It’s my new go to spot and I encourage you to check it out for yourself. Now that the weather is starting to warm up they even have outdoor seating… P.S. Make sure to ask about the secret menu. They have hidden items that aren’t on the regular menu like the strawberry cheesecake and they’re even willing to make ANY sandwich or dessert you want, as long as they have those ingredients on hand. They also have special menu items for holidays. St. Patrick’s Day is corned beef, Thanksgiving is a turkey and cranberry and there are many more.
