I’ve talked about our love for tech stuff many times on this blog and how we travel a lot. All of our kids love their tech gadgets from their tablets to handheld gaming devices and the Nintendo DS is a favorite among my oldest 2. Whether they’re having free time and relaxing on the couch, playing in the car, waiting with me at an appointment, or we’re traveling they almost always have their DS with them. Some of our daughter’s new favorite games are Tomodachi Life and Animal Crossing: New Leaf.
Our daughter loves heading to grandpa’s house for the weekend and takes her DS with her where she shares it with her Aunt who is a tween. They have a blast playing both games and I love that they’re spending time together, bonding over something they both like doing, playing video games. Both games are very user friendly and kid friendly as well. I’ve even picked them up and started playing and I have to say, they’re so much fun!
With Tomodachi Life friends, family, and celebrities become Mii™ characters and live together on an island. You start by creating Mii characters and customizing everything about them. You then have fun recreating your best friend, your favorite actor, mom and dad, co-workers… whoever! Then watch as they rap, rock, eat donuts, fall in love, break up, go shopping, play games, and live their crazy Mii lives. It’s a simulation for kids that is not only kid approved, but mom approved. Some of the other simulation games out there are just too mature for young girls to be playing but Tomodachi Life is just right and provides lots of silly fun for the girls.
The girls love being able to create their simulated lives in Tomodachi Life as well as creating things, exploring, having fun, and much more!
With Animal Crossing: New Leaf you become mayor of your own town and you make the decisions that shape your town and your life. Experience a living, breathing world where new friends and new discoveries await every day, morning, noon and night. Express yourself by customizing your character, your house and your town as you create your own ideal world.
Animal Crossing: New Leaf is another simulation game, but with this one you run a town. The girls can collect things to make money, buy a house and improve it, head to town, fish, run their town, interact with characters (which can be pretty funny), and do lots more. They love being able to name and run their own town and then run around collecting things to contribute to the town or sell off to make money. I’m a huge fan of Animal Crossing and it’s one of my favorite nintendo games so I love that the girls love it as well.
Both games are available for purchase through the Nintendo Estore and in stores where Nintendo DS games are sold!

My niece and nephew got new Nintendo DS for Christmas and love them! They have the Animal Crossing game and have so much fun playing it. I do not know if they have the Tomodachi game. I will have to see if they have this game.
