It seems like everyone around me is expecting or just had their babies. In fact, I’m heading to a baby shower this weekend for a dear friend. I love giving friends and family DIY gifts since they’re thoughtful, personal, and you can customize them fit the expecting mom’s liking. Anyone can buy something off a registry (which I also do) or pick-up a gift card, but the gifts made from the heart mean so much more and I hope they’re items the mom will enjoy and treasure. I’ve been hard at work all week making items for this mommy to be and it got me inspired to share some DIY baby gifts that are easy to make.
Diaper Cake – Diaper cakes are so much fun and they include some much needed diapers that the mommy to be will need. You can decorate them with things like baby soap, pacifiers, a comb, shoes, onsies, and so much more. Bonus: It makes for some adorable decor and it a fun way to present mom with items she’ll need for her little one.
Burp Cloths – This is one of my favorite gifts to give because parents always need burp cloths. They come in handy for cleaning spit up, protecting baby while eating, and cleaning noses/messes. They’re very easy to make and the fabric possibilities are endless.
Quilt – Quilts are another fun, but easy gift to make. You can browse free quilt patterns to find a pattern you love and customize with adorable fabrics. They can be used from infancy and beyond and they’re something that will last many years.
Personalized Onsies – This is another favorite gift of mine to make. There are SO many options from vinyl, no sew designs, painting, embroidery, tie dye, and so much more. The possibilities are endless and they’re so easy! Don’t have any fancy cutting/sewing machines? No problem! Head to your local craft store and pick up iron on letters and appliques to customize some cute onsies for the baby to be.
Gift Basket – Not crafty? Don’t fret! Pick up a cute basket that can double as decor or storage in babies room and fill it with things mom/baby will need.
