I love using my Silhouette Cameo 3 to create things. The possibilities are endless and with Valentine’s Day just around the corner I knew I wanted to make Valentines for my kid’s friends this year. Our son is in preschool and when I saw these Valentine Crayon Card Holders in the Silhouette design store I knew they would be perfect for little hands. Fun, festive, and something I know the other kids won’t be handing out. (Don’t have a Cameo? Scroll down to find out how you can still make cards like these.)
These were very easy to make. You’ll need:
- White cardstock
- Color cardstock
- Printer
- Silhouette Cameo
- Paper Adhesive Glue or a glue stick
- Crayons
- Scissors or Paper Cutter
What you’ll do:
I purchased & downloaded all the Valentine Crayon Card Holder designs that I liked from the Silhouette design store.
I then opened them in the Silhouette Studio and ungrouped the design. I wanted to take the “Happy Valentine” box away from the crayon holder portion.
Next I lined up all of the “Happy Valentine” boxes and fit as many as I could in a 8.5×11 square. You can change the size of the design space by using the Desgien Page Settings button at the top right corner of Silhouette Studio.
Once you have them all lined up, print the page onto white cardstock. File > Print. All I did was load the cardstock into my printer and they printed out fine.
Next you’ll want to trim them down.
While I am cutting down the “Happy Valentine” boxes I have my cameo cutting the crayon holders. I can fit 2 onto a 8.5×11 piece of cardstock. Once one page is done, load another and hit the repeat job button. I use the Silhouette studio settings for cardstock and it cuts perfect every time.
Once those are done cutting you’ll want to assemble everything. Place some glue onto the white boxe and glue them down onto the card holders. Let them dry and then add the crayons.
Super easy, simple, and so fun!
Don’t have a Silhouette Cameo? Don’t worry! You can still make cards like these.
