Milk & Cookies for Santa is a Christmas Eve tradition that most Santa believers take part in. There is something so special about picking out your favorite cookies, pouring a glass of milk, and leaving a treat for the reindeer on the table for Santa. That’s why this Santa Cookies Tray is the perfect addition to that yearly tradition.
This project is another easy to whip up this project and with a few supplies, your Santa Cookies Tray will be ready for this year’s Christmas Eve!
What you’ll need:
- Buffalo Plaid Placemat. I got mine from Hobby Lobby where they’re on sale for 50% off, making them just $1.99. (Cheap & Easy!)
- White Iron-On
- EasyPress 2
- Cutting Machine
What you’ll do:
Download the file that I’ve provided and load the SVG file into your software. I am using a Cricut Explore Air 2 with Design Space.
The font for the names is ZP Niekko via the Silhouette Design Store. However, a nice cursive or kid type font would also be lovely.

*To load your design into Design Space. Open design space > New Project > Upload > Save. Click the Image of the Santa Tray > Insert Images.
This design is sized for the placemat so you don’t need to resize anything, but the design is bigger than the Cricut mat so you’ll need to cut into sections. What I did was ungrouped the whole image and then attached sections together, like a circle, arrow, and words and cut the design out in sections.
DON’T FORGET TO MIRROR YOUR DESIGN BEFORE CUTTING.
Once your design is cut out you’ll want to weed it and iron it onto the placemat.
I iron the placemat for about 15 seconds before applying the design and then follow the heat settings on the Cricut.com/heatguide for the EasyPress 2. The placemat is a cotton/poly blend.
Once all the pieces are ironed on you’re done! Simple & Easy!

Thank you - this is fab! Also looks amazing in different colours and works great on wood with regular vinyl

Has anyone done this with vinyl and put it on wood or a plastic tray? Same concept right? Just wondering if I'd still need to mirror the image since I'm not ironing on?🤔

Yes, You can definitely add this to plastic or wood. If you're using regular vinyl there is no need to mirror.
