I have a confession to make, I’ve never had any of the General Mills Monster Cereals. *Gasp* I know, I’ve been living under a rock or something. Every Halloween season I see the end cap at my local Target filled with the ghostly display of cereals and I keep walking on by, BUT this year I decided to stop and buy them all. I needed to know what I’ve been missing since my social media feeds are filled with testaments about how awesome these cereals are and how thrilled people are that they’re back.
After my first bite I was hooked and I proceeded to hide while I enjoyed my bowl of berry and marshmallow-y goodness, but like always the kids found me and I ended up having to share. Count Chocula®, Boo Berry® and Franken Berry® are now going to be a favorite in my home during the Halloween season and like so many others I’ll be jumping for joy when they’re back on store shelves, but for now I’m going to enjoy them while they’re here and Target has exclusive packaging that allows you to build a cardboard castle with the empty boxes. You will need to purchase all 3 boxes to complete this spooky castle.
Setting up the castle was easy. The pieces are on the back of the 3 different boxes and there is a good amount of cutting involved, so put those kids to work! Once all the pieces are cut out it’s time to assemble. You cut along the dotted lines and slide the pieces together, super simple and easy. Our kids love playing with boxes. Anytime a new box comes into they house they use it for play so these cereal boxes are perfect for them. They’re also really great with their imaginations so once the castle was assembled they started playing with the castle, the monsters, and making up their own stories. While they played I whipped up some krispy treats with the monster cereals that were a huge hit! They’re perfect for at home sweet treats or taking to school and sharing with a class for a Halloween party!
