I have been compensated by Pedialyte for this post; however, I am sharing my own thoughts. All opinions are my own.
Since the start of the school year our house has been an on and off stream of sickness. From runny noses to upset tummies, the kids have been through it all and it’s been exhausting for both them and me. I hate seeing my babies sick, so I try to make them as comfortable as I can until they’re feeling better. Depending on their symptoms we’ll do different things, but there is always one thing that remains the same when the kids are sick and that’s Pedialyte. Since Pedialyte has great flavor that the kids enjoy and it’s the #1 pediatrician-recommended oral electrolyte solution it’s always in our home for when sickness strikes.
When our kids are sick they don’t have much of an appetite and tend to lay in bed and sleep a lot. Since they aren’t eating I try to push fluids as much as possible (to prevent them from getting dehydrated) and Pedialyte is my go to since it’s filled with the electrolytes their bodies need. Other beverages like sports drinks, juice, and soda don’t meet the medical guidelines for helping to prevent dehydration due to diarrhea and vomiting. These drinks are too high in sugar and too low in sodium, which is an important electrolyte lost due to diarrhea and vomiting. Hydration helps your body work correctly, but when you’re sick, it’s easy to lose vital fluids, especially in kids.
Pedialyte is in a variety of flavors that the kids love like fruit punch, grape, strawberry, and a few other flavors. In addition to their one liter containers they also have freezer pops (another kid favorite) and powder packs. I really like the powder packs since I can have them when we’re on the go and just mix them into a bottle of water, plus they’re also good for having a small bath of Pedialyte. Sometimes a container gets opened and the kids get better and it doesn’t get finished. The powder packs help to reduce extra Pedialyte going to waste.
Pedialyte can be conveniently picked up at Walmart, when I’m picking up other sick supplies like soup, crackers, and tissues, in the baby department. Right you can save on Pedialyte with the Ibotta app (which I am a huge fan of). When you buy 2 liters of Pedialyte you can earn $2 cash back!
What are your remedies for keeping your little ones comfortable when they’re sick?

That's interesting to know. No kids, but this would be good when I get sick.

Oh yes! I used to keep Pedialyte on-hand every winter to have when the kids got sick. It's so important that they stay hydrated and they always would drink the Pedialyte before they would drink anything else!

We have been using these products and they really are good to have around when kids get sick and need to get their electrolytes back up!
