The Heartwarming tale of “The Secret World of Arrietty“ debuted On 2-Disc Blu-ray™ Combo Pack and DVD on May 22, 2012. The Secret World of Arrietty is based on the acclaimed children’s book series “The Borrowers,” by Mary Norton, “The Secret World of Arrietty” is an imaginative tale of “little people” living furtively among us, and the unlikely friendship that forms when their hidden world is discovered. The heartwarming family adventure features beautiful, stylized animation and timeless themes of friendship, courage and determination.
In a secret world hidden beneath the floorboards, little people called Borrowers live quietly among us. But when tenacious and tiny Arrietty (voice of Bridgit Mendler) is discovered by Shawn (voice of David Henrie), a human boy, their secret and forbidden friendship blossoms into an extraordinary adventure.

We received our Blu Ray/DVD Combo pack and got to watching it right away. The hand drawn animation was beautiful. There weren’t out of this world graphics or animation and I like that. It was nice to enjoy the hand drawn, 3D quality and beauty that the animation does have.
The story line was simple, but cute and I really enjoyed it. My 2 year old had a hard some getting into it and I suspected she would since there weren’t bold colors, music, and dancing. I think this movie is geared more towards older kids rather then a toddler, but if your toddler will watch anything then this would be a good movie. It’s an all around good movie with a nice story line and something the whole family will love!
I was fortunate enough that I was invited to see the screening for the secret world of arrietty so getting to watch the DVD extras was nice.

This would be such a fun movie to watch when the grandkids come for a sleepover! Sounds really cute!
