Remember a few weeks ago when I told you I was a Chicago Cutlery Ambassador? Well I have been using my new knives for a few weeks now and I love them! I knew my knives weren’t the best, but I didn’t realize how crappy they were until I started using my knives from Chicago Cutlery…
The only thing I love about Chicago Cutlery is they give you information on everything that has to do with your knives. They tell you how to sharpen them, clean them, store them, and what knives to use on what items. I always tossed my knives in the dish washer, but I learned that this is bad for your knives since it can wear them down and even cause chips in the blades. I also learned that it’s best to store your knives in a wooden block. I always stored mine in a drawer, but this is bad since other items in the drawers can dull, chip, and dent your knives. If you don’t have a wooden block then buying inexpensive covers for your knives is ideal and some knives even come with the cover. The better you take care of your knives, the longer they will last!
The website is so informative and I’ve learned so much about my new knives.
I was sent the Chef knife, Paring knife, and Bread knife from Chicago cutlery. All of the knives have high quality Japanese stainless steal blades, are ultra sharp, and have an innovative grip for superior cutting and control. The knives are light weight and feel great in my hand. When I cut, it’s like cutting through butter. These 3 knives should be in every kitchen. They get all the major cutting jobs done and quickly!
The Chef knife is great for chopping, dicing, slicing, and mincing, with the rocking motion of the blade. This knife is by far my favorite. It makes chopping fruit and veggies quick and easy. Since I am able to get my chopping done more quickly I now have a little more time for cooking.
The Paring Knife is ideal for peels, pares, trims and cores small fruits and vegetables. It’s Also great for small tasks requiring close control like garnishing.
The Bread Knife is great for cutting and slicing breads and cakes. I’ve used other bread knives in the past and they always squish my bread down in the cutting process. This one doesn’t and I love that.
