IKEA Soft Toys: The gift that gives back!

Sharing is caring!

I’ve been to IKEA numerous times, but it was always for furniture or items for the house. I never really paid attention to the toy area, so little did I know they had such a nice selection of toys.

We were recently sent some of their cool soft toys and I learned that this holiday season, the IKEA Soft Toys for Education campaign is back in full swing! For every IKEA Soft Toy that a customer purchases (between November 4 – December 29), one euro (approximately $1.35 US) is donated to the Soft Toys for Education Campaign.  Since 2003, the IKEA Soft Toys for Education campaign has donated $61.75 million (€47.5 million) in donations to UNICEF and Save the Children, helping eight million children through over 70 programs.Campaign. Qualifying items are: stuffed animals, finger puppets and books  and they range in price from $.49 – $19.99 and are available in all IKEA stores and online during the holiday season.

We were sent some of their soft toys to test out and they were a HUGE hit with my daughter. We received the DUKTIG 9-piece Fruit Basket Set, VANDRING Book, and the Lion hand puppet from KLAPPAR CIRKUS. The Fruit Basket and Hand puppet are both plush items and are soft and durable. The hand puppet fit both my daughters hand and my hand with no issues and the fruit basket came with 9 pieces of yummy looking fruit in a basket. The Basket handle has a Velcro closure on the side so it can come undone and both the fruit basket and hand puppet are machine washable, which I love, since my toddler can get her toys pretty dirty. Both soft toys encourage imaginative play and role playing. My daughter has fun pretending to feed all of her dolls, stuffed animals, and even herself the fruit. She even loves trying to feed the hand puppet.

In addition to playing with the fruit it’s been great teaching her what each fruit is and having her be able to identify them. We also received the VANDRING – THE HEDGEHOG book. The Hedgehog book is a hardcover book that takes you on a journey with the hedgehog to meet the animals and plants of the forest. It was a great read for my daughter and the book is full of beautiful pictures.

All of the Soft Toys and Books can be purchased from an IKEA store or IKEA website for $.49 – $19.99, but the items pictured here were all under $10!

*I was given products for review purposes, regardless all opinions are 100% my own.
