#iHeartOmron Fitness Diaries – Week 3!

Week 2 is over and week 3 is beginning in my Omron Fitness challenge. The time is flying by and I am feeling great. I have never been one for working out, but I am actually starting to like it. OK I lied, I don’t like working out. It’s painful and I’m achy all the time, but I love the after feeling of working out and the small results I’m starting to see.

Last week I talked about using the stationary bike at the gym and I have since changed it up. I’m now doing the treadmill for 20-30 minutes – 5x a week. I start on incline 2 and 2mph and every 5 minutes I increase the incline by 1 and speed by .5. I can get up to 3.5mph before it starts bothering my knee and that gives me a good, sweaty workout along with some weight workouts.

This week I didn’t see a loss of any kind, but I also didn’t see a gain. I stayed exactly the same and that’s ok because I’ve noticed my stomach is a little flatter. I was talking with the manager at my gym the other day and we were talking about my goals. He then started to tell me about how your body loses fat and builds muscle, but that 5lbs of fat and 5lbs of muscle are completely different and he showed me the comparison. So I know that even though I might not see a loss on the scale that my hard work is still paying off and my fat is just turning into muscle.

Crazy right? That is 5lbs of fat and 5lbs of muscle. See the difference??

Next weeks goals are pretty much the same. Keep drinking lots of water, eating healthier, and working out. Next week I hope to see a loss…

How are your goals coming along?
