Chocolate Strawberry Banana Pops!

Sharing is caring!

Thank you TruMoo for sponsoring this post! Add more calcium to your life with TruMoo Calcium Plus!

After school pickup is immediately met with “I’m hungry!”. It’s almost like a ritual now when I pick up our daughter from school. Me – “How was your day? What did you do today?” Her – “Fine. I’m hungry!” I’m sure some of you moms can relate. And then the car ride home is filled with “Can we get something to eat? I’m starving!” And as soon as we get in the house, shoes and backpack are flung and the kids are scrounging around the kitchen for what they can eat. This happens everyday, 5 days a week. One of the things they like to have after school is a cold class of chocolate milk and lucky for them we always have a carton of TruMoo in the refrigerator.

Lately the weather has been really warm and sunny and the kids have been asking for Popsicles more. Traditional popsicles and be loaded with not so good for you stuff, so they tend to be an occasional treat in our home. So to keep the kids happy I whipped up a batch of nutritious smoothie pops that combine a few of their favorite things like TruMoo Calcium Plus chocolate milk and fruit for a nutritious and delicious snack they can enjoy after school. Packed with protein, chocolaty goodness, and fresh fruit it’s a treat the kids love.

TruMoo Calcium Plus Chocolate Milk

TruMoo is a favorite in our home because of the great taste and because it contains NO artificial growth hormones* and NO high fructose corn syrup. TruMoo Calcium Plus low-fat milk has 50% more calcium than regular low-fat milk and is the newest product from TruMoo. It also provides eight essential nutrients, including that extra boost of calcium that helps keep little bones strong and growing.

 Banana Strawberry Smoothie Pops

To make these Chocolate Strawberry Banana Smoothie Pops you’ll need a popsicle maker or mold. Any kind will do. The first step will be to slice your strawberries and bananas thin so you can line the popsicle mold, this is optional, but I love how the chunks of fruit look in it.

Drop a few slices of strawberry and banana into the mold and try to get them to stick to the sides. If not you can’t get them to stick, it’s fine. It can be tricky and not all of mine would stay.

 Smoothie Pops

Next up you’re going to make your milk mixture. Combine chocolate milk, yogurt, strawberry, and banana in a blender until smooth and creamy.

Once the milk mixture is done you’ll fill up each mold, place Popsicle sticks, and freeze for a few hours.

Once frozen they’re ready to enjoy! To remove them from the mold, I run the mold under hot water for a few seconds to loosen them up.
