Summer is in full swing and the kids are rambunctious. I love having no schedule for a few months, but figuring out what to do with the kids all day can be hard some days. We love trips to the park, local splash pad, and library, but there is only so much of that we can do before the kids are asking for something new. Growing up my mom always had me in a few activities to keep me busy, whether it was summer school, classes, or sports, and it’s something I like to do with my kids. Our daughter loves arts and crafts so when I heard about the Michael’s Camp Creativity I knew it would be something she would have fun doing. Art projects, kids her age, and a few hours of fun to keep her occupied = A happy mom and kid.

I signed up and paid for classes online, but they can fill up quick so I would try and book them in advance. We attended during Under the Sea week. Each class includes 2-3 craft projects, they provide all of the supplies, and the teacher shows the kids how to make the project and then the kids can work at their own pace to complete it. Once everyone is done they move onto the next project. Classes are on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to noon through 7/29. Each class is $5 or you can purchase 3 classes for $12. $12 per week for 3 classes is a great price to me and it helps to keep our daughter busy doing something she loves.

Our theme was Under the Sea when we attended a class and our daughter got to make 3 craft projects and at the end she got to fill out a journal entry that goes into a journal for Camp Creativity. Her projects were paper jelly fish, clothespin sharks, and Popsicle stick mermaids.

Our daughter had a blast at Michael’s Camp Creativity summer camp and I recommend it to anyone with kids who love to do arts and crafts. It got us out of the house, gave her something new to do, and now she has some pretty new art to hang around the house. Sign up at your local Michael’s store or online so your little one can have some craftin’ fun.
