We travel a lot and I always make sure I have things for the kids to do. The kids have their tablets and various other things to keep themselves occupied, but I always forget about myself. I usually rely on my phone, but the battery dies so quickly that I don’t want to do much on a plane since I don’t have outlet to charge it. I have a tablet, but it’s older, big, and heavy so I hate traveling with it. I’ve been wanting something smaller that I can toss in my purse to keep me occupied while traveling or on-the-go. Whether in the carpool line waiting for school to get out or traveling on planes, the Amazon Fire Tablet is just what I needed.

Amazon Fire Tab

The Amazon Fire Tablet is small, but mighty and allows me to read, watch movies, play games, respond to emails, listen to music, and play around on social media. The battery has a 7 hour lifespan and I love that I can add more memory with a microSD memory card.

Amazon has a cool feature called On Deck. For Amazon Prime customers On Deck automatically downloads Prime Video and the first episodes of Amazon Original Series while your device isn’t in use, ensuring that there is always something new to enjoy instantly, even when offline. But don’t fret, if you don’t have Amazon Prime you can still take advantage of On Deck. For non prime customers On Deck automatically downloads the first episode of Amazon Original Series, so that you still have something readily available when you’re offline.

I’m guilty of reading before bed and they say that the blue light electronics give off make if harder for you to go to sleep. The Amazon Fire Tablet has a cool feature called Blue Shade. Blue Shade automatically adjusts the backlight of your device screen to remove blue light for a more comfortable nighttime reading experience, perfect for late night road trips or jetlag in your hotel room. Simply tap Blue Shade on the quick actions menu to turn on this feature and enjoy your favorite book, news article, app, or any other nighttime activity without straining your eyes.

Reading Amazon Fire

Amazon has a great app store with thousands of free games and apps that you can take advantage of. I don’t play too many apps, but I always keep a few on hand for the kids because nothing is every completely mine. The kids like to borrow it and play some of their games or read books. It’s great for the whole family and really comes in handy for keeping me (and the kids) entertained while on-the-go. It’s affordable, travels well, and the perfect size to fit in your purse or bag.

You can pick up your own Amazon Fire Tablet via Amazon.com and while you’re there make sure to pick up a stylish case for it as well. You gotta keep your devices protected!
