Snowland at Great Wolf Lodge is a Fun Way to Celebrate the Holidays! #GWLSnowland

Sharing is caring!

Great Wolf Lodge has become one of our favorite family vacations. Each year we take a family trip to one and since one opened up in Colorado Springs earlier this year it’s our new go to location. It makes for a fun, quick getaway since it’s only about an hour from us. We were invited to check out Snowland at Great Wolf Lodge and we were so excited to attend, especially since I was already talking with my husband about making plans to head down again. I love all things Christmas and really wanted to see how they turn the resort into a snowy wonderland for the Holidays.

Snowland at Great Wolf Lodge in Colorado Springs was a little special this year because it’s their first one. Not only did we get to see how gorgeous snowland is, but we got to be at their first one in Colorado and that’s a pretty special moment. They transform the lobby with lights, trees, and snow. Yes, SNOW. Right in the lobby twice a day. How exciting is that? It was so magical watching Santa arrive, helping him to light the tree, and watching the snow drop. The resort is decorated with so many beautiful trees and sparkling lights.

In the lobby they have a huge gingerbread house which is made with real gingerbread, candy, sweet treats, and frosting. The best part is that you can reserve a time to eat in the gingerbread house with your family for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. It seats 6 people and there is a $20 reservation fee, but it gets donated to the Ronald McDonald House Charities. The food they serve is from a menu in Barnwood, which is their restaurant that uses locally sourced foods from Colorado. Barnwood has some delicious foods that don’t disappoint.

Each resort leaves the decorating design up to their culinary team. All the resorts have a gingerbread house, but they will all look different. The Colorado Springs gingerbread house took 2 weeks and over 40 hrs to create. They used 120 feet of rice krispies treats, 300 pounds of gingerbread, and 600 pounds of frosting to put the house together.

Another fun thing that Great Wolf Lodge has is their mailbox for Santa letters. Your little one(s) can write a letter to Santa and drop it in the mailbox for him.

Great Wolf Lodge Fun

In addition to all these fun Holiday themed things there are still all the “regular” Great Wolf Lodge things to do like a round of mini golf, bowling, the arcade, time in the water park, and so much more. There is never enough time to do everything, but that’s what keeps it fun. Each time we go we get to experience something new. This time the kids played in the arcade for the first time and had a blast.

Bowling and the water park are 2 of my kids favorite things to do and I have to drag them out of there, sometimes kicking and screaming. If you’re going to visit Great Wolf Lodge I highly recommend getting a Paw Pass. There are a few different ones to choose from, depending on what activities your little ones want to do, but they’re worth it since they save you money. Buying a Paw Pass ends up being cheaper than doing each activity individually.

Scoops Kids Spa

During our stay we snuck away for some girl time and our daughter got a manicure and a new bath bomb from Scoops Kids Spa. Her nails are a glistening pink color and she loved being able to get pampered in a spa geared towards kids. She always looks forward to a new bath bomb when we visit. She loves being able to take a bath after a day at the water park. Bath bombs make bath time a little more relaxing and they smell delicious.

If you’re not familiar with Scoops Kids Spa it’s a spa in the resort for kids. They do ice cream-themed Manicures and Pedicures, but don’t worry mom. They do Mommy & Me pedicures so you both can experience the fun. Make sure to schedule your appointment before you arrive, but you don’t have to be a guest to take advantage of the spa. You can stop in anytime if you’re in the area to get your little one a manicure. I would suggest making an appointment because they can get busy.

Look at that breathtaking view from our balcony.

One of the great things about Great Wolf Lodge is that everything but the water park is open to the public. If you’re in the area make a night out of it and head to Great Wolf in some cozy pj’s. Drop off a letter for Santa, view the Holiday decor, play a game of bowling, eat some pizza, and watch the snow fall after the Holiday show in the lobby. It would make for a fun family night out, but I really recommend staying at the resort. Nothing beats splashing around in the water park and going down the water slides!
