Experiencing the Dolby Cinema at AMC Prime with Disney’s The Jungle Book!

Sharing is caring!

I’ve partnered with Dolby Cinema at AMC Prime to let you know about their theater and The Jungle Book. #DolbyCinemas, #ShareAMC & #JungleBook

The Jungle Book

The Jungle Book came out this weekend and I was so excited to see it. Since we spent all of spring break home sick it was nice to finally get out of the house and do something fun with our daughter before she has to go back to school. We headed out to the Dolby Cinema at AMC Prime for our mommy daughter day out and I was thrilled to head back to the Dolby Cinema after our last visit. It was such an awesome movie experience that immerses you in the movie and really brings it to life. Going to a regular theater after experiencing the Dolby Cinema at AMC Prime just isn’t as good.

Our last experience was a little crazy, with getting tickets and refreshments, but this time it was so much smoother and we were done with everything in under 10 minutes. We walked to our theater and right into our seats. I really love the preassigned seats and it makes seat picking in the theater so much easier. Long gone are the days of standing at the bottom of the theater and trying to scope out good seats, before someone comes and takes them. Once in our seats it’s time to get ready for the movie. Those plush leather seats that recline really make movie watching comfortable and I was really looking forward to them. Feeling the rumble of the movie coming to life let’s you know it’s movie time and you’re in for a real experience. And those previews, anyone else excited for Finding Dory this summer?

If you haven’t been to a Dolby Cinema before you’re really missing out. The high quality sound, picture quality, and pulsating seats really bring the movie going experience to life and make you feel like you’re apart of the movie. Since we were seeing The Jungle Book I was curious as to how the Dolby Cinema experience would be and it was pure awesome. There was one scene with a landslide and you really felt like you were part of it with the pulsating seats that allow you to feel sound and the movement in the movie.

Disney's The Jungle Book

As for The Jungle Book, it was better than I expected. The animals looked so real, Mowgli was great, and the story was perfection. It brought back a childhood favorite movie and gave it a live action twist that was pure perfection. I was enthralled the whole time and loved every minute of Disney’s The Jungle Book. Our daughter loved it as well, she’s 6, but she did find a few scenes towards the end a little scary. I’ve been asked by several friends and family members if The Jungle Book is kid appropriate and it really depends on your child. You know them best, but I’ll share my reasoning with you. The scene with the snake was a little scary. Since the animals look so life like it can be hard for smaller ones to tell that they’re not real, even I was a little freaked out by the snake (I hate them, btw). If your child doesn’t get freaked out by animals then I think they’ll be fine, but if they do or they don’t understand that the animals are animated then it may be best to have them sit this one out. There were a few other scenes towards the end of the movie that I could tell our daughter was uneasy about, since she was gripping my arm, and she did comment when we left that she liked the movie, but thought it was scary in some parts. My rule of thumb is if you’re hesitant to let your little ones see the movie then see The Jungle Book without your little ones and you can always take them if you think they’ll be ok. I’ve talked with other friends who have taken their smaller kids and they were fine through the whole thing. It really depends on your child…

All in all I loved The Jungle Book. The animation was on point, the scenery was gorgeous, and the classic Disney messaging was very clear and distinct. Friendship, family, and teamwork are important. Be courageous, brave, and yourself. It was a hit in my book and I can’t wait until the DVD comes out so we can own this classic film.
